‘CONSULTANCY CENTRE’ - OFFICE OF THE PRO-VICE-CHANCELLOR (PLANNING AND RESOURCES)
The ‘Consultancy and Contract Research Centre’ was launched in August 1998 under the aegis of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, Consultancy & Innovation. As from April 2014, the ‘Consultancy Centre’ operates under the functional responsibility of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Resources).
The ‘Consultancy Centre’ is involved, inter alia, with the management of Consultancies and the organisation and hosting of international conferences/workshops/events, from pre-award till project wrap up.

To help the University of Mauritius become a world class repository of research-generated knowledge for enhanced national competitiveness.
MISSION
To provide expert Consultancy services to local, regional and international organisations so as to contribute to the socio-economic development of Mauritius within the global economy.
EXPERTISE
Since its creation in 1998, the ‘Consultancy Centre’ has successfully managed over 1100 projects including studies, reports, training programmes and multi-disciplinary projects, commissioned from the University of Mauritius by the private sector and public sector as well as regional and international organisations. The projects vary from short (non-award) courses to multidisciplinary projects of national importance. The projects cover a wide range of disciplines that constitute the expertise and regional relevance of the University.
To respond effectively to the needs of its various clients, the ‘Consultancy Centre’ draws from a high-calibre pool of intellectual expertise and professional resources available on campus. Local resources include over 300 academics, staff and technicians supported by state-of-the-art equipment and laboratories, and wide experience in project management supplemented, as required, by a network of links with universities and research & development institutions abroad.
