The CITS of the University of Mauritius seeks to be a leading edge, high quality provider of computer-based network services, Management Information Systems and IT certification courses in support of UoM’s academic, research and public service missions through strong partnerships and informed leadership.

The role of CITS for providing University-wide IT services is to:

Provide and manage IT and Communication infrastructure services - network, broad user support, training, teaching and learning support, high performance computing, administrative systems and information services;

Establish standards and protocols to maintain efficient, secure, reliable IT services within and outside of the University;

Develop and promulgate IT policies for the efficient purchasing and management of information technologies;

Liaise with senior management on IT needs and provide advice on the potential of IT to meet those needs;

Support initiatives, in association with academic staff, in the areas of research and teaching;

Contribute through IT to the University's outreach efforts.

Implement software to streamline UoM business processes

Provide technical support to UoM end-users

Provide systems maintenance

Develop and Maintain UoM Website
The CITS is currently organised in two departments, namely Management Information System (MIS) and IT Services (ITS).
